READING & ENGLISH LITERACY ACTION PLAN

To remediate pupils' reading skills. To increase performance and literacy of pupils in English	Using Letter Tiles Project Pair Distar Using Big Books DRTA Four Pronged Approach Read-A-Thon Peer Tutoring Read-A-Thon DRTA Four Pronged Approach	Identify pupils with reading difficulty from Gr. I to Gr. VI/ Conference with parents of pupils' at risk. Set schedule for remedial instruction Involve parents during remedial intruction Involve Master teachers in the implementation of school reading program Monitor pupils' progress in reading Identify the reading level of pupils from Gr. I to Gr. VI using Phil-Iri forms and passages. Use HOTS questions in all lessons in English. Differentiated activities inside the classroom Confer with parents of slow learners Use the budget of work in making lesson plans Make reliable and measurable assessment Use English in speaking and writing during English Instruction. Expose pupils to stories. Unlock difficult words.
